The shot across the bow of the GOP View another article
Republicans in Congress appear to be falling into their old clubby habits in their appointment of Committee leaders.

Republicans in Congress, happy with a recent strong House victory, might be tempted to feel that they are safe; that they are protected from on high given their large margin of House seats.

They are wrong.

Members of the Tea Party, along with many independents that just want Washington to solve the problems of the economy and our deficit, don't really care about the politicians sitting in Congress; they care about results. And if these voters who just gave Republicans the gift of power in November do not get results, they will take that power away.

How? By primarying GOP politicians who go against or slow down enacting practical solutions for America.

The "lesson" of O'Donnell, or of Miller, is completely lost on the Tea Party. They will continue to primary "Establishment" Republicans, over and over. They won't be successful in their efforts all the time, but it will be enough to have the GOP take notice. Every election. House elections will be especially relevant, given the smaller district size which lends itself to be more homogeneous ideologically compared to a Senate seat for the entire state.

What voters are looking for, according to exit polls, is both jobs and a lower deficit. We have seen Keynesian economics fail, so more gov't. spending will NOT bring any more jobs. just more debt.

We can help Americans who want BOTH jobs and a lower deficit by keeping taxes low, having a business-friendly environment, curtailing Obama's executive power to suspend bankruptcy/other laws that businesses depend on, stop regulating CO2, and repeal ObamaCare which is already costing BILLIONS in write-downs.

For the deficit, we need to look seriously at our spending, including defense. We need to cut spending now or be forced to cut it mercilessly in the future. Let's do us ALL a favor and be adults; have a conversation with Americans about the debt, and do it often. Everyone needs to know how scary the facts really are. We can take it.

The Tea Party can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until we have real solutions to our very real problems.
